After Djorkovic lost to Safin yesterday, today we see another big upset. Sharapova is overwhelmed by a magnificent performance of Alla Kudryavtseva. Wimbledon 2008 contains a lot of surprises.
Who is Alla Kudryavtseva?

This 21 years old girl doesn't have a fast serve. Her serve is as slow as Dementieva's. But her forehand and backhand are as dangerous as Dementieva's.
On that fateful day, Alla tirelessly returned all the balls back to under-par Sharapova, flat and deep. On an off day, Sharapova could not bring out her A-game and committed many errors. Normally when facing a weak server like Alla, she would have put all the return serve in corner with pace. However, most of her returns were near Alla or did not threaten her.
This victory is a boost for Alla, especially when she lost to Venus Williams previous year in a match that she almost won.
